Because of the dense diversity of people, culture and music associated with that are of the world. I agree that we should be careful about the implications and context of the broad term ‘Latin American Music’, as it could reference so many different things from different places.

What is the difference between Latin American Music and Latin Music?

Latin music is music produced by people of Latin American descent, in the United States. Latin American music is native to and produced in Spanish, Portugese or French regions.

What are ostinatos and how are they used in many Caribbean and Latin American musical expressions?

The repetition of a rhythmic pattern which functions as an anchor or backbone to a whole piece.
